Scoutbook

Troop 36 uses Scoutbook to track rank advancement and merit badge achievement. Scouts and scout parents can access their records thought this site. A log-in account is required.

The BSA provides a Scoutbook tutorial for parents that you can find here.

How to Begin a Merit Badge

  1. Find a merit badge that you would like to work on. The BSA website has information about each of the badges and the process for beginning and completing a badge.

  2. When you want to begin a merit badge, you must request a blue card from the Scoutmaster or Advancement Chair.

  3. Fill out the blue card and get the name and contact for a merit badge counselor. Your Scoutmaster or Advancement Chair can help with this, or you can get information from Scoutbook. Remember to copy your parents on any email communication that you send to a counselor or leader.

  4. Work on the badge following the instructions from your counselor.

  5. When finished, meet with the counselor and obtain their signature on the blue card.

  6. Return the blue card to your Troop leader who will record the completion of the merit badge in Scoutbook.

  7. Keep the Applicant portion of the blue card in a safe place. You may need to show this at your Eagle Board of Review!
